School Closings & Cancellations

When school is canceled, usually due to inclement weather, there are a number of ways you can find out about it:

Online

Check this web page for announcements about cancellation of Lewiston public schools. (Note that this page auto-refreshes every 20 seconds or so, to be sure you are viewing the most current version of the page.)

On days that WCSH (Ch. 6) TV runs its Storm Center, it also posts all of the cancellations it has received on its web site, starting at 7:00 A.M.

Once a decision has been made to cancel school, the outgoing message on the phone at the superintendent's building (795-4100) announces that fact. Remember, a LOT of people may be trying to get through on this line at the same time.
