STUDENTS:
Diaboli Musicae is Lewiston High School's unique extracurricular choir that performs jazz, acapella and pop. Auditions are Tuesday, September 23 from 2:15 to 4:30pm in room A10. You must sign up in advance with Ms. Poppke.
For All Musicians: If you are planning to audition at District II or State Festivals this year, make sure you have signed up with Mr. Ebersold or Ms. Poppke by Friday Sept. 26th, or your name will not be registered. Keep in mind that eligibility does apply.
Interviews for Big Brothers/Big Sisters New Mentors will be held on Monday, September 22nd from 8:00 to 3:00 in the Guidance Office. If you have turned in your application and have not signed up for an interview time, please come to the Guidance Office and see Mrs. Gauthier to do so.
There will be training for new Big Brother/ Big Sister Mentors on Wednesday, September 24th at 2:15 in room B109.
Any students interested in joining the Gifted and Talented AVEC Contemporary Affairs group need to see Mr. Levesque in room B211 to pick up applications for the program. Applications need to be returned by the end of next week.
Seniors: did you get your fund raiser packets in DA last week? If not, please see Mr. Levesque in room B211 if interested. Lets make the Class of 2009's graduation and Project Grad as memorable as possible. We can't do it without your help.
Any LHS students interested in joining the debate team for the 2008-2009 season need to meet in room B211 directly after school on Monday, Sept. 22nd. If you can't make it please see Mr. Levesque as soon as possible.
Due to strong interest, we have added a second bus for the college fair at USM this Sunday. The bus will leave LHS at 1pm and return at 5pm. The bus is free. Please sign up in the aspirations lab by the end of the day Thursday. See Ms. Dowd with any questions.
Any Freshmen interested in running for class officer or executive board, nomination forms are available in the main office. They must returned no later then 2pm Tuesday September, 23rd. Speeches will be held on Wednesday September, 24th. during period 2.
Attention : Academic Advocate members new and old, our first meeting of the year will be held on Tuesday, September 23rd in room C226 at 2:15. All are welcome.

There will be rehearsals for the District II Choral Music Festival on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30pm to 3:30pm in A10. All accepted singers must attend at least three sessions to perform in the Festival. See Ms Poppke for a practice CD.

Ron Brown Scholarship-Nov. 1 & Jan. 9thAcademically talented, highly motivated African American students who are currently seniors in high school and plan to pursue undergraduate degrees full-time. Students must be US citizens or permanent US residents. If applying Nov 1 will be considered for the RB Scholar Program & and to a select and limited number of additional scholarship providers. If applying Jan 9th, considered for the Ron Brown Scholar Program only.
AES Engineers Scholarship- September 21
Scholarship Criteria: Our belief is that achieving a high grade point average should not be the only criteria for determining who deserves to be helped. For that reason we are offering a scholarship that will be awarded on the basis of character, as determined by evaluating the essays that are submitted. You are not required to be taking Engineering course to be eligible. Awarding $500. Applications are on line.
