SCHOLARSHIPS 2007-08    Maine Schools of Nursing Scholarship-Spring Semester Dec 1 &  Fall Semester is July 1 Three $1,000 scholarships to Maine residents who will be attending an accredited nursing program in Maine.  Criteria: *Maine resident *GPA equivalent to a 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale * cover letter * 3 original letters of recommendation * must be enrolled in six credit hours or more per semester to be considered *must be enrolled in an accredited nursing associates or bachelors degree or a higher program * must enclose verification of educational institute enrollment in the form of a letter or statement from the Registrar’s office.  Wal-Mart – Sam Walton Community Scholarship-  Jan. 14, 2008  The 2008 Sam Walton Community Scholarship is available through www.walmartfoundation.org.  Since 1981, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. has offered the Sam Walton Community Scholarship program to graduating high school seniors. Maine Family Credit Union – April 1, 2008 Awarding three scholarships: The Founders Scholarship, The Maurice Fontaine Sr., Scholarship and The Roger Bissonnette Scholarship.  Eligibility – Applicant must be a member of Maine Federal Credit Union, graduating high school senior, must be accepted as an incoming freshman to a two-year community college, four-year college or university or technical school and student must begin within one year of the award. Chute P.E. / Vernon T. Swain P.E.
