Montello Teacher Recognized

Montello Teacher Recognized

October 21, 2011

On Monday, October 17 fifth grade teacher Kelly Johnson was recognized for her work by a team of OfficeMax associates. Andrea Tetzlaff, Business Development Manager, Integrated Solutions and her colleagues presented Mrs. Johnson with a framed award and $1,000.00 of supplies for her classroom.

The national program, A Day Made Better, makes similar presentations across the country. Ms. Tetzlaff explained to the audience of one hundred students and Mrs. Johnson's colleagues that teachers spend on average one thousand dollars of their own money annually to support students and programs. The OfficeMax program's motto is, "Working to erase teacher funded classrooms."

Mrs. Johnson was nominated by the school's administrative team. In their nomination, the administrators described Mrs. Johnson as a tireless and dedicated teacher who sets high standards for her students and self. Mrs. Johnson's students joined her and together they checked out all the goodies.

Safe Schools/Healthy Students Survey

October 12, 2011

We value your input and would appreciate your participation in the Safe Schools/Healthy Students (SS/HS) Survey. Your responses, along with those of other parents, will be used to plan and support activities that make our schools and community safer and more responsive to the needs of students and families in Lewiston and Auburn. The 15-30 minute survey is anonymous, and focuses on student health and school safety.  A raffle of a $50 gas card will be drawn on Dec. 15 for anyone completing the survey before that date.
