Students in the Carpentry/Building Construction Program develop the skills necessary for construction or remodeling of residential building.

Students enrolling in the Carpentry / Building Construction Program
should . . .

• have the ability to read, understand and interpret specifications and blueprints.
• demonstrate precise measuring ability.
• be able to read and comprehend written and verbal directions.
• have the physical tolerance for chemical fumes, wood dust, solvents and other pollutants.
• be able to work in confining spaces, in all types of weather, performing multiple tasks
• have the ability to work without supervision in a team setting.
• have good eye-hand coordination.
• be physically fit with the ability to lift 80 lbs.
• demonstrate good attendance.
• demonstrate ability to attain craftsmanship.
• have the ability to comprehend and demonstrate industry safety standards.
• have a reading lexile measure between 930 to 1330.

High school credits awarded for successful completion of junior and senior year program.
