No school on Friday, Oct. 10 or Monday, Oct. 13.....

Math

1.  Spiral review worksheets are due on Friday.  Students must show all work next to the problem...

2.  Math review quiz will be on Friday of this week.

Fifth Grade Math Vocabulary: Factor trees/prime factorization, factors, factor pairs, prime numbers, composite numbers, symetry, square numbers, multiples, area, perimeter and forms of measurement, congruent, divosor, qotient, dividend, fraction, numerator, denominator, mixed number, improper fraction, reduce, simplest form, common multiple, expression, variable, estimate, rounding, compatible numbers.  

NOTE:    

Science:

We are studying the parts and functions of the parts of an animal cell and a plant cell.  There will probably be a test next week over this material.

Mr. Belleau's class has to finish copying the function of the plant and animal cell in their science journals.

Social Studies:

Reading:

1.  50 pages of reading needs to be done each week.  A signed log (by parents) needs to be turned in each Friday verifying this.

2.  Each quarter students must read 5 grade level books and complete an activity.  A schedule has been sent home.  

3.  First Review of book was due Friday, Sept. 5, the second was due on 9/19, the third was a project due on Oct. 3rd.

4.  The fourth book review is due on October 17th.  

Spelling:

1.  Each week the students will have 20 new words.  Tests will be on Friday of each week.  Review sheets over the past six weeks

2.  This week students will be reviewing the skills from Unit #7.   .  

Language:

1.  We are currently writing a story. The topic is their choice.  

Please turn in forms: emergency, media, etc...

Book order is due Oct. 21st.
